The Designer

Eliana Poumbrou -- the hands and heart of Amarélia Jewelry.

I grew up immersed in the color, rhythm, and untamed beauty of Brazil, where creativity was woven into everyday life and nature spoke into luminous ways. These early impressions shaped my sensibility and continue to echo through my work. After years spent living in England and moving between cultures, I found my true sense of grounding in Greece. Its enduring light, layered history, and artistic soul have become an essential part of my creative language.

Before dedicating myself fully to jewelry, my path unfolded within the global world of technology and business, where I spent over two decades navigating fast paced environments, international markets, and constant movement. Yet creation was never far away. In the still hours of the night, at the jewelry bench, I returned to a slower rhythm, shaping metal by hand and following an instinct that asked for patience, intention, and care.

In 2015, this instinct took form with DoceMel, my first creative expression. Though life later called me back to the corporate world for a time, the desire to create never dimmed. It remained present, quietly waiting, until it was ready to be fully realized.

That realization is Amarélia. A jewelry house shaped by memory, craftsmanship, and emotion, where delicate forms carry stories meant to endure. I invite you to discover a world where time softens, details matter, and every piece is created with intention.

The Name

The name Amarélia carries layers of meaning and emotion. It weaves together elements of the name Eliana with elia, the Greek word for olive and a symbol of peace, amar, meaning “to love” in Latin and Portuguese, and amarelo, the Portuguese word for yellow, a color associated with light, warmth, and creativity. Together, these elements form a name that reflects the spirit of the brand and the values it seeks to embody.

The Philosophy

Amarélia is guided by the belief that jewelry is more than adornment. It is a vessel of memory, emotion, and time.

Each creation begins with intention. From the first sketch to the final polish, every piece is shaped slowly and deliberately, honoring traditional craftsmanship and the beauty of the human hand.

Nature is a constant presence in Amarélia’s language. Organic forms, lace like structures, and subtle references to heritage emerge as whispers. Inspired by light, landscape, and the poetry of lace, the designs speak softly, revealing their depth over time.

Amarélia creates jewelry to be lived in, cherished, and passed on. Pieces designed to accompany life’s moments, and to age with grace. In a world of excess and speed, Amarélia stands for permanence, intimacy, and meaning.

The Craftsmanship

Every Amarélia piece begins with care and intention, guided by ancient techniques such as lost-wax casting – slow, hands-on processes that feel like storytelling in metal. These processes allow each design to evolve naturally, transforming ideas into metal with patience and precision.  In the Aionia Collection, craftsmanship begins even earlier, with lace created by hand using thread, later translated into metal. This process preserves the softness and intricacy of lace while giving it permanence and strength.

Materials are chosen for their character and integrity. Precious metals and natural gemstones are selected not only for their beauty, but for the stories they hold and the journeys they have taken.

Each piece is finished thoughtfully, honoring both the material and the process, and allowing the individuality of every creation to remain visible.
