Amarélia Jewelry

A Little About Me

Hey there — I’m Eliana Poumbrou, the heart and hands behind Amarélia Jewelry.

I grew up surrounded by the color, rhythm, and wild beauty of Brazil. It’s where my love for creativity first bloomed — in nature, in art, in the everyday magic all around me. After some years living in England and a few moves along the way, I’ve now been rooted in Greece for quite a while. This place, with its sunlight, history, and deep artistic soul, continues to inspire me every single day.

Before I dove into jewelry, life looked pretty different. For over 20 years, I was deep in the world of corporate tech sales — fast-paced, high-pressure, but also full of growth, learning, and a fair bit of globe-trotting. Still, even in the busiest moments, I’d find myself at my jewelry bench late at night, hands busy, heart full — quietly answering a call I couldn’t ignore.

In 2015, I took a leap — a small one, but it meant the world. I launched DoceMel, my first creative venture. Life steered me back to tech for a while, but that creative spark? It never went out. It just waited, patiently and faithfully, until the time was right to become something more.

That something is Amarélia. And I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.

WORDS ABOUT US

The Story Behind Amarélia

Amarélia was born from that spark—fueled by a love for beauty, storytelling, and craftsmanship. The name itself carries layers of meaning and emotion. It weaves together parts of my own name, Eliana, with elia (the Greek word for olive, symbol of peace), amar (Latin for "to love"), and amarelo (Portuguese for "yellow") a color that, to me, embodies light, warmth and creativity. It’s a name that reflects who I am and what I hope Amarélia brings into the world.

Every piece starts with care and intention. I often use ancient techniques like lost-wax casting — slow, hands-on processes that feel like storytelling in metal. Whether it’s gold, silver, bronze, pearls, crystals, or stones both precious and semi-precious, each element is chosen with purpose. It’s not just about how it looks — it’s about what it says, what it holds, and how it makes you feel.

My designs are shaped by the places that have shaped me. Brazil’s wild, vibrant beauty still runs through my sense of texture and color. Greece offers endless inspiration — from its timeless art and sun-soaked landscapes to the traditions passed down through generations, like the delicate lacework I watched the women in my family create by hand. And then there’s southern England — the soft coastal tones, the quiet charm — where I studied and worked for years, and where my love for craft took a deeper root.

Amarélia isn’t just a brand — it’s a reflection of a lifelong journey. A space where stories, cultures, and materials come together. A place where a piece of jewelry can carry meaning, light, and emotion into someone else’s life.

So whether you’re just visiting or you’ve found something here that speaks to you — thank you. Truly. It means the world.

With love and gratitude,
Eliana
